Meet Gissell León

I'm Gissell León — textile and botanical artist, and the hands behind Gissell Studio.

I grew up surrounded by the richness of Colombian craft traditions, where making things by hand was never a hobby — it was a language. Today, I work from my studio in Incline Village, Lake Tahoe, where the landscape itself becomes a material. The pine forests, the light on the water, the texture of dried seed pods — all of it finds its way into the work.

My practice lives at the intersection of fiber art and botanical design. Each piece is slow-made, built from natural materials, and shaped by the belief that the things we live with should be as considered as the lives we live.

This is not fast art. It is art made to last — for great homes, for people who collect with intention, and for the rare collector who wants something that holds meaning for generations.

— Gissell León
